WordPress 6.8.2 Released (15 July 2025)
This is the latest maintenance release, addressing 20 core issues and 15 block editor bugs. If your site supports automatic background updates, it should update itself. If not, you can manually trigger the update via your WordPress dashboard or download it directly.
Support Ongoing for Older Versions
WordPress also issued maintenance releases for branches from 4.7 through to 6.7 as a courtesy for users still on older versions.
Looking Ahead: WordPress 6.9 Scheduled for 2 December 2025
After earlier plans to pause major releases, WordPress 6.9 is now confirmed for release in early December, bringing fresh developments to the platform.
